This class is designed for the newcomer with little or no experience
    off road with a 4x4 vehicle.
    Class Length: 8 hours, one hour classroom, 7 hours on trails
    Driving your own 4x4
    Class size is limited to 6 vehicles – reservations are highly recommended
    to assure a spot in the class.

    Vehicle Requirement
    Must have a 4x4 truck or SUV with at least 7” of ground clearance; Street Legal, no
    lowered vehicles; low profile tires are more susceptible to damage; spare tire
    required; All terrain or mud terrain tires recommended; under carriage protection (skid
    plates) recommended. Larger vehicles (Hummer, Excursion, etc.) are more likely to
    be scratched from branches on narrow trails.
    A Forest Service “ADVENTURE PASS” is required. Valid driver's license required to
    drive during class.
    NOTE: Damage to your vehicle is possible. All damage is the responsibility of the
    vehicle owner/driver!

    Class includes: Instructor, fully equipped support rig, 4x4 skills book, trail
    map, handouts, completion certificate, video clips/photos from trail drive,
    product discounts.
    We will stop along the trail for lunch – bring lunch, snacks and water.
    Lunches are available at Bill Knick’s Café at the Big Bear Discovery
    Center.

    CLASS FEE is $250.00 per vehicle (passengers welcomed); fee is
    payable at the Discovery Center when you register

    Class check-in is at 8:30 AM at the Big Bear Discovery Center; class begins at 9:00
    AM with trail drive starting at 10:30 AM. Lunch stop at 12:00 PM. Class concludes at 4:
    30 PM.

    Bring warm clothing, just in case. If you have an FRS Radio, bring that as well.
