USING THE CONTROLS
Use all of the controls as smoothly as possible.
STEERING
Never jerk the wheel. Use smooth motions when turning. This
reduces the chance of traction loss and makes the ride more
comfortable. In difficult sections, use both hands on the
steering wheel. Place your hands at about 2 o’clock and 10
o’clock. Do not wrap your thumbs around the wheel rim. The
wheel can jerk violently over bumps, ruts, etc. and injure your
thumbs.
BRAKES
Apply the pedal smoothly. Avoid stabbing at the pedal.
Avoid wheel lock up by modulating the pedal.
Minimize braking on steep descents to avoid lock up.
Descend in low range, first gear for steep slopes. With an
auto trans, left foot brake when crawling up boulders.
THROTTLE
Apply the throttle smoothly to avoid wheel spin.
Abrupt throttle applications causes wheel spin and
unnecessary damage to the trail, increasing ruts and moguls
and possibly causing stone damage to your vehicle or one
behind you.
Too much throttle induces wheelspin.

Pay attention to your surroundings, and watch the trail.
